Manus launches rebuilt agent platform with Cascade orchestration, persistent execution and personal agents

Why it matters
For an agent founder, Manus is packaging orchestration, durable execution, event triggers and computer use into a broader platform rather than treating the agent as a single chat interface. Its reported efficiency gains are potentially relevant to runtime design and pricing, but the undisclosed test setup makes them a directional signal rather than a comparable benchmark.
What happened
Manus released Manus 2.0 across web, desktop and mobile, describing it as a rebuilt architecture rather than a version update. The release adds Cascade, an agent harness for selectively invoking and coordinating capabilities; dedicated Cloud Computer execution environments; event-triggered automations; remote computer-use sessions; Manus Studio; and Cue, a standalone personal-agent app whose agents can collaborate and, within defined limits, use separate email, phone, wallet and computer resources. Manus reported that one tested Cascade configuration used 23.2% fewer tokens, completed tasks 28.2% faster and cost 32% less than its previous system, but did not disclose the configuration or tasks used. Gartner analyst Anushree Verma said enterprise deployments will need isolation, approval gates, telemetry and narrowly defined authority because agent autonomy is advancing faster than governance.
