South Korean synthetic-consumer startup Intelligia raises $2.5 million for research platform
Simulated-people products in other fields — what works, what fails · Wednesday, 2 September 2026
Why it matters
The reported customer conversion and response-reproduction figures offer useful, though company-supplied, evidence about what makes synthetic people commercially valuable: rapid iteration paired with validation against real human behavior. Its expansion from survey respondents into shopping and store-operation simulations also illustrates how persona systems can remain useful when tightly bounded to a specific decision context rather than presented as general human substitutes.
What happened
Intelligia, founded by CEO Baek Seung-guk, raised KRW 3.4 billion ($2.5 million) in a pre-Series A round led by Kakao Ventures, with participation from Murex Partners and Capstone Partners. Its Survey platform uses AI-trained synthetic consumers to answer surveys and interviews, and the company says it has completed more than 130 projects, converted over 60% of proof-of-concept customers to paid contracts, and achieved an average 90% similarity between synthetic and real consumer responses in validation tests. Intelligia plans to launch a global SaaS product in the fourth quarter and is testing a store digital twin, Parastore, with convenience-store operator BGF Retail.
